REAL-TIME MONITORING OF BUILDING ENERGY BEHAVIOUR: A CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK

This paper presents a conceptual framework for the continuous monitoring of buildings energy state. The pro- posed methodology is based on a reduced number of low- cost temperature and power sensors. It uses an inversion procedure to combine in an optimal way a detailed ther- mal model of the building envelope and the measurements obtained from temperature sensors. The inversion proce- dure aims at reconstructing the unknown right-hand side terms of a detailed thermal model thus enabling to quan- tify the various heat transfers between the building and its environment and between the different components of the building envelope.
